Getting very excited about our first tour to Umbria which starts on Wednesday. We will be staying in the beautiful town of Perugia with its extraordinary Etruscan and Roman heritage, I will be writing an update on each day but I am particularly looking forward to Thursday when we get stuck into the serious Sagrantino de Montefalco wines, and we are visiting two amazing family estates: Dionigi and Raina .
The weather forecast is a mix of bright hot sunny days and the odd light rain shower.
Friday takes us into the hallowed vineyards of Montalcino and Montepulciano and on Saturday we explore some of the lesser known wines from Torgiano. I am really looking forward to discovering the gastronomy the region has to offer (I call this my job).
