Puglia here I come

Very excited as I am currently preparing to lead a tour for John Lewis to Puglia.

We fly out to Bari tomorrow and this is an opportunity to explore a massive wine region that I have never been to before.

As you might expect,  there are a myriad of Italian indigenous grapes with names such as Minutolo, Nero di Troia, Negroamaro, Susumaniello and of course …Primitivo.

Wikipedia Apulia_ProvincesPuglia is Italy’s fourth biggest area of production and makes twice as much wine as New Zealand!

Historically, it was a significant contributor to the now defunct EU wine lake but has been transformed over the last 10 years as the focus has turned to quality over quantity.

Keep checking in for the daily updates.
