Nine of us having come down from Salta where we had toured vineyards in Cafayate, our group doubled in size to explore Mendoza, and we kicked off with a drink in the patio of our hotel in the centre of the city. Tim gave an overview of the tour, and talked about the history of Malbec, and we then walked over to the Magnolia Restaurant where we enjoyed a great dinner with plenty of Chardonnay and Malbec to help down our various choices. The stroll back showed what a night-time place Argentina is, with bars and restaurants buzzing.
