Our second Loire Valley Tour has kicked off in Saumur with a splendid dinner at L’Essentiel restaurant which was a 20 yard walk from the hotel! This was just as well as rain was threatening and the last thing we needed was a wet walk home. A superb four course dinner was provided by this Michelin recommended restaurant as we tucked into asparagus, perfectly cooked beef, a selection of cheeses and dessert. Washed down with Saumur Blanc, St Nicholsas de Bougueil and not forgetting the crémant de Loire on arrival. A super start.
