Our final visit of the tour was to Yacochuya – just a few kilometres from the hotel in Cafayate. Yet another stunning winery with a different perspective of the Calchaqui valley and more fabulous views. We were extremely lucky to be hosted by Marcos and Arnaldo Etchart. The Etchart family is hugely important and well known both in Argentina and worldwide. They run Yacochuya with great precision and attention to detail. Marcos gave us a superb insight into the philosophy of the estate and the local terroir.
This was followed by a fabulous tasting with Arnaldo. Masterful Torrontes and terrific Malbecs really showed the quality of the estate.
This was a fabulous end to the Salta/Cafayate leg of our South America tour. Our coach took us back to Salta, where some of us were to head to Mendoza and some to other adventures.
