After a good run of hot weather, it was our turn for rain – and yet the rolling hills of Tuscany still look amazing.
The weather could not detract from the enthusiasm of Giulia Cecchele at Poggio San Polo as we surveyed the estate from the warmth of the Powerpoint presentation. The wines were as exceptional as ever with the Rosso di Montalcino 2013 and Brunello 2009 tasting beautifully.
Nicola – the winemaker also delivered a highly insightful barrel tasting – contrasting the 2012 and 2013 Brunello’s.
Off to lunch at Boccon Divino – we surveyed the fabulous, rain drenched Val d‘Orcia from inside and devoured a gourmet four course Tuscan tasting menu.
