Twenty of us assembled for drinks at the SO/ hotel in Auckland on a beautiful sunny evening, ready to start our New Zealand wine adventures.
Our first night dinner got us off to a wonderful start. The Origine bistro, little brother to the Michelin-starred Ahi restaurant, provided a superb venue (with views across the harbour), creative menu and some wonderful wines. The conversation (and wine) flowed, we enjoyed some native produce presented in the most beautiful way, and we tried very hard to be sensible as we would be taking a ferry ride to Waiheke Island the next day!
