As we had a late flight out from Ljubljana we were able to squeeze in another visit and lunch at the wonderful Doppler estate. Situated on the top of a hill, quite close to Ducal, we had the most perfect weather to enjoy the stunning views. Owner Mihaela and her daughter Lena hosted our visit as we stayed outside, luxuriating with their sparkling Chardonnay and a superb range of wines. It was a sublimely relaxed finish to our tour. David, owner of Pri Florjanu restaurant in Maribor had arrived with the catering and a sumptuous lunch ensued thus ensuring that we remained overfull as we have felt for most of the trip.
