Our tour was not yet over. We managed to squeeze one final visit to the wonderful Tsiakkas family vineyrds – high up in the hills in an area called Pelendri.
Their tasting room has stunning views over the valley as we settled into the visit. Katerina, one of their winemakers, hosted a brilliantly concise overview of just about everything we had learnt over the past five days and set out the history and philosophy of the estate. We then tasted through an excellent selection of wines culminating in their delightful Commandaria.
