Tim Syrad Wine Tours and Wine Holidays

Since 2001 I have taken more than 600 people on over 140 wine tours and holidays to most of the major wine regions in Europe and the New World.  My programme of tours for 2025 has just been published and places are filling quickly. There are a few places left on my 2024 programme so please get in touch if you would like to discuss a tour next year or in the future.

2024/5 Tour Programme

In 2024 our autumn European destinations are Castilla y León in Spain (specifically Ribera del Duero, Toro, Rueda and Cigales), the Alentejo in Portugal and Eastern Sicily including Mount Etna. We visited these regions in the first half of 2024, also Uruguay, Argentina, Chile and the Loire Valley – you can read the blogs for each of these to find out more about what my tours are like.

In 2025 I am running three tours to South America in February/March, and my European tours in April-June and September/October are to Champagne, Priorat and Penedès, Southern Rhone, Castilla y León and Slovenia.

I opened bookings for 2025 European tours to my existing clients at the very beginning of July, and places are filling up. However there is availability on many tours, so please don’t hesitate to contact me if you are interested.

It is possible to be wait-listed on any tour that is already full, so please take a look at the website and get in touch if you would like to come on tour with me this or next year.

If you are thinking about a wine tour now or in the future, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

On all Tim Syrad Wine Tours, you will:

Taste fabulous wines
Meet amazing wine makers
Be guided by wine expert Tim Syrad
Enjoy wonderful gastronomy
Visit beautiful places

Why do my clients keep coming back on my wine tours year after year?

  • Our wine holidays are in lovely places with fabulous scenery.
  • We visit famous wineries and smaller ones that have a fascinating story to tell.
  • We meet the owners and wine makers.
  • We talk to the people who make the wine and tend the vines.
  • We get to know a region, its wine and cuisine properly
  • We keep group size small enough (under 25) to ensure the best visits and a great atmosphere

I personally escort all my wine tours, and make sure that every single tour delivers these magic ingredients.  Since 2001 I have escorted more than 600 people on over 140 tours to most of the major wine regions in the world.  I am very proud that so many of my clients come back on tour with me every year – over 100 people have been on at least ten of my tours, and nearly 200 people have been on at least five!

To get a feel for what I do, take a look at the video from our Slovenia wine tour, read the reports of all my previous tours, and of course – find out what my clients say!

On each of our four trips no two wineries were ever the same.  The people who ran them were always welcoming and clearly had a great respect for Tim and his extensive knowledge of both wines and the wine trade.  In addition there was always a surprise: unusual buildings, a llama farm in South America and amazing art galleries in Jerez.  The wines were chosen with great care, both for enjoyment and learning about wine, and the atmosphere relaxed and fun.   Tim is clearly a people person as well as being a wine person, nothing was ever too much trouble for his guests and he always made sure we all enjoyed ourselves.”

Tim is a great host and guide; his vast experience and unruffled amiability ensure that everyone has a good time. But beware – touring with Tim will almost certainly make you want to come back for more.

Jacqueline Seymour

“Thank you for an amazing tour – fantastic variety of vineyards from one with Incan hieroglyphics, to mosaic artwork, to chairs made from oak barrels to llamas – all overlooking the spectacular Andes and all allowing us to taste some very high quality wines and some delicious ceviches. A particularly memorable holiday!”

John Ellis

“The tour to Slovenia was something of a revelation as we knew practically nothing of the country or its wines; we left with a love for them both. Over four days we visited eight wineries, including the stunning Doppler estate seen on the uploaded picture. There were factors that were common to each winery: natural beauty, wonderful wines and unfailingly courteous hosts. This was a tour that I would recommend to anyone with a love of wine and an appreciation of beautiful locations.”

Caroline P

“The Wine tour to Slovenia was outstanding. The variety of the wine makers you chose were excellent and very interesting as they are on all your tours. The wines which I had no real idea about were very interesting and I was surprised at how great they were on the whole. It was lovely seeing so many familiar faces as well as meeting some new people.”

Margaret B

“I enjoyed our 4 day wine tasting trip to Greece. The itinerary was perfect, two vineyards each day and all of them showed us a different aspect of the wine making and all of them gave us delicious wine – my favourite visit was the Kalogris vineyard with the absolutely delightful family, the scrumptious food and excellent wine. Thank you for organising everything so brilliantly and creating such a happy informal atmosphere.”
– Margaret, Richmond
