2018 Wine Tours and Wine Holidays

Since 1998 I have run nearly 100 tours to wine regions in Europe and the New World.  My programme of 2018 wine tours includes new destinations and some old favourites, and any of my tours will give you the most wonderful experience of visiting beautiful places, tasting fantastic wines and food, and meeting the people who make the wine and tend the vines.

In the Spring, following the success of the tours I ran last year, we begin our 2018 Wine Tours with a return to Sicily and Slovenia, and also to Ribera del Duero, which was a hugely popular tour in 2012.

Provence is our new Spring tour destination, and in the Autumn I am running a four night tour to Jerez and long weekends enjoying the gastronomy of Piedmont and exploring the Golden Triangle (Chablis, Sancerre and Champagne).

If you are interested in any of my 2018 wine tours please do not hesitate to contact me by telephone or email, or use the enquiry form.  Don’t hesitate – some of my 2018 Wine Tours are already nearly full!

An early booking discount of £100 is available for tours booked 8 weeks before departure date.
Prices are based on two people sharing a double/twin bedded room.  Single supplements £100.

2018 Wine Tours

Two 5 day/4 night tours commencing April 25th and June 6th
Based in Aix-en-Provence or Cassis.  Meeting Point Marseille Airport
£999 per person excluding flights

A tour to prove Provence is not all about Rosé! We will, of course, taste some stunning pink examples but Provence has a top notch reputation for Cabernet/Syrah blends and spicy, herbal whites such as Vermentino. Provence is rightly prized for its outstanding cuisine and beautiful countryside and we will endeavour to combine some sublime tasting experiences in beautiful locations.

2018 Wine Tours- Sicily

5 days/4 nights based in Marsala.  Meeting Point Palermo Airport
£999 per person excluding flights

Following the success of my 2017 tours, we visit Sicily again to meet producers who are making superb, artisanal wines that reflect the unique set of grape varieties and climate that this island has to offer. Staying in the coastal town of Marsala to the west of Palermo, we visit some of Sicily’s best producers such as Planeta, Curatolo Arini and Ceuso.

2017 wine tours Slovenia
5 day/4 night tour commencing 23rd May
5 days/4 nights based in Ljublana.  Meeting Point Ljublana Airport
£999 per person excluding flights

Slovenia was a revelation to everyone who toured with me in 2017. This is a vibrant, exciting and innovative wine producing nation that has seized the opportunity since 1991 to launch a high quality wine industry onto the world. Influenced by Italy to the west, Austria and Hungary to the north and Croatia to the south there is a fascinating array of wines to discover. The hospitality is very generous, and Slovenian cooking is bold, vibrant and modern.

Ribera del Duero

2018 Wine Tours - Ribera wine tour
5 day/4 night tour commencing 13th June
5 days/4 nights based in Valladolid.  Meeting Point Madrid Airport
£999 per person excluding flights

Ribera del Duero in 2012 ranks very highly in the hierarchy of my best wine tours so I am keen to revisit. Based in the lovely city of Valladolid, with its vibrant tapas and fine dining, the wine regions of Toro, Rueda, Cigales and Ribera del Duero are very accessible. We will taste a superb mix of wine styles with whites represented by Verdejo and Sauvignon Blanc, an amazing array of Tempranillos as well as a number of local varieties. A highlight of the trip will undoubtedly be a return to the Valduero estate with their fabulous wines and most exquisite traditional lunch.

Golden Triangle

2018 Wine Tours - Tim Syrad Champagne wine tours
27th-30th September
4 days/3 nights, hotel location to be confirmed. Meeting Point Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport.
£949 per person excluding flights

The Golden Triangle is a great way to explore three different wine regions in one trip.
The beautiful hill top town of Sancerre will allow us to explore top class Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir together with the famous Crottins de Chavignol goats cheese. Chablis needs no introduction and we will taste from Petit Chablis through to Grand Cru at several estates. The Aube region of Champagne is home to lesser known but distinctive and high quality wines, amongst others we will visit Drappier.

2018 Wine Tours

Two tours commencing 11th and 18th October
4 days/3 nights.  Meeting Point Seville Airport

£899 per person excluding flights.

A first time destination for TSWT and an opportunity to showcase the incredible quality and diversity of Sherry. Based in Jerez de la Frontera or Sanlucar de Barrameda in the south of Spain and close to Seville, we will explore the concepts of Fino, Amontillado, Oloroso, Manzanilla and En Rama and also discover Jerez’s range of red, white and dessert wines and other fortified styles.  Glorious scenery, at the perfect time of year, and of course – tapas!

Piedmont Wine and Gastronomy Long Weekend

2018 Wine Tours
2nd-4th November
3 days/2 nights based in Alba. Meeting Point Milan Airport

£899 per person excluding flights

For a third year in a row we visit Piedmont, this time at harvest time. Alba is the perfect location from which to explore the delights of Piedmontese cuisine, and we will be presented with some sublime food and wine pairings. Add in the excitement of seeing (and smelling) wines fermenting, and possibly grapes being brought in from harvest (this is of course weather dependent!), this will be a wonderful opportunity to experience one of the most important wine regions in the world.
